After a teaching career and then retirement, Elly Wane is at last fulfilling her lifelong interest in drawing and painting. Elly works in ink, pencil, colored pencil, watercolor, collage, casein and traditional egg tempera, with most of her work done in watercolor. She loves creating botanical paintings, still life or whimsical paintings of everyday household objects. She enjoys the challenge of learning about and using new materials and techniques. For Elly, art is an ongoing exploration, a daily encounter with a new adventure. She thoroughly loves working on a new drawing or painting and can spend days completely engrossed in her work despite the nagging housework needing attention. Happily for Elly, the artwork wins out every time.
